Are you on the verge of giving up trying to run a bike since maintaining balance is just not your thing? This is the same reason why an adult tricycle is preferred by people who have problems dealing with just two-wheels or simply want to own a trike for transporting groceries or other cargo.

On the other hand, you may be able to easily achieve balance, but tired of dragging your 700c bulky bike along throughout a single trip.

A folding bike is designed to transform into a compact size for easy transport as you conveniently carry it around, and you get the best of both worlds in the Mantis Tri-Rad Adult Folding Tricycle!

 Performance

The 20″ wheels of this trike give it less bulk than other models, and are also perfect for smaller riders and children who find bigger wheels too large for them. It presents a low step-through frame that matches its size, where mounting and dismounting can be done with great ease. Despite its smaller size, it is built with a strong and reliable steel frame which ensures safety, in line with linear pull brakes that are quick to respond.

The frame can be folded, making storage easier as well or bringing it during trips. You can bring it along for senior parents and grandparents during trips, and you can rest assured they are set in a comfortable and safe trike. Nothing’s stopping pet lovers who want to bring their loyal pals along their trip can bring both pet and bike without any fuss.

Mantis also sees to it that your comfort is met with the extra-wide seat and upright handlebars which can be adjusted to the perfect height. You’re in for a smooth ride on a lazy afternoon with the built-in suspension fork which cushions the trike when you run across bumps or potholes. You can quickly travel to your destination as your trike efficiently takes you there in a slow and relaxed manner.

Not only does it give you a fun way to exercise and get around, this adult tricycle also serves a cargo function with its handy basket situated right behind the rider. Running an errand would seem a lot less of a difficult chore! It can securely haul anything, from groceries to jugs, books and school supplies, bags and suitcases. You can display an adorable sight of cute little pups on your cute little trike!

 Pros

  • All of the Mantis solid design features make the adult folding tricycle a comfortable, sturdy and safe vehicle.
  • Durable steel frame with favorable folding capability that makes it a space saver.
  • Conveniently roomy seat and cushioned ride.
  • A flexible trike with adjustable height preferences.
  • Huge basket as cargo compartment ideal for multi-purpose use.
  • Arrives in bold and vibrant metallic blue color.

 Cons

  • Single speed only which is mostly for level ground.
  • The feel is a little different than riding on a regular bike. However, you must know that as opposed to a bicycle, a tricycle is not steered by leaning but must be steered by turning the handle bar.

 Conclusion

A new rider, young or old, will get the hang of cycling in a breeze. Anyone will be delighted with it, especially children with special needs and the elderly who are no longer capable of handling two-wheels are granted the freedom they long for. The Mantis Adult Folding Tricycle can be put to many good uses with its various great qualities.

  1. I really appreciated your reviews and thank you for putting this information on line for clear, concise and helpful info. If you have time and any thoughts my plight. I still enjoy my regular bike 3 days a week and it doesn’t affect my Plantar Fasciitis, but hiking any distance (which my wife and I have enjoyed for 40+ years) is no longer a possibility. I was wondering if I got this type trike would it go slow enough her walking (she is fast) and I ride and be together? There are many flat trails in the area we live.

    • Hi Mike,

Thanks for commenting and I’m glad you appreciate the reviews! I keep working to make the site and reviews better, so I’m glad to know that people are reading them!

So, I think the answer is “yes, but…”. I think this trike, or another model: the Kent Alameda is a 6-speed so you’d have a bit more control over the gears, might be suitable for riding next to someone that is walking. Most of the adult trikes that are on the site are not so speedy, so I think with most of them this would be possible. The “but…” part of the answer is that you’d definitely need to be riding somewhere with a wide trail. The adult trikes are pretty wide most models are somewhere between 2 1/2 and 3 feet wide, so if you add a little safety margin and a pedestrian, you’d need a pretty wide trail.

I think on a flat trail the speed is definitely doable, I’d just worry about how much space you have to walk/ride safely. Of course, you know the trails in your area better than I do.

      Hope that helps!
